Thinking about my VSP in terms of Ramage5's interpretive relationships
1. "In terms of" something else My audience might think of their childhood when looking at the images, especially the ones including kids. If they are parents they might think of their own children, their own bedtime routine at home with them. Or they could be reminded of a particular movie, for some reason I think of the movie "Step Brothers" and the scene where they are whispering back and forth to each other from their beds in the dark.
2. Within a particular genre The genre of my 3VSP is less photojournalism and more like art photography, because I will (most likely) be manipulating these photos in some way. Not necessarily by posing people for the photographs, or setting up a particular scene (only because I will be using others' photos and not taking my own, probably) but I will be setting different color tones to the photo, cropping it, and manipulating it in other ways so that it fits my project. This is unlike photojournalism, where most photographs are taken as they are, nothing is usually moved, touched or manipulated (or at least it shouldn't be).
3. In light of personal observation I want to show the differences along with the similarities of this simple act of going to bed, at different stages in people's lives. It might sound simple, or trivial, but I feel like with all the images put together it would be really interesting to see it all together.
4. In the company of others I want other people to understand the simplicity of the act these images show, but how diverse it is from person to person. I want them to be intrigued by this simplicity, I want them to be interested in the act that we all perform every day, and see just how it contrasts as we grow older, how our lives change and so does the setting of this act.
